The Abbey of St Peter, Ghent

The first results from ToTL were presented in the splendid surroundings of the Abbey of St Peter, Ghent, Belgium between 8 and 12 April 2013 at the 7th International Symposium ‘14C and Archaeology’.

Alex gave a talk entitled “An Archaeological Typology of Bayesian Chronological Models” where she presented for the first time some ideas about the types of models that are emerging from the project. Alasdair presented a poster which described the importance of refined chronologies for understanding the character and tempo of change in the Neolithic period across Europe. Krisztián Oross (project collaborator from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences) and Derek presented a poster discussing the chronology of Sopot Culture material from Alsónyék-Bátaszék.
